Parrett’s Acceptable Use Policy – updated 9-23-2002
Any user connected to Parrett Internet Technologies must
agree to the conditions defined in this agreement; by connecting to Parrett's
system, you agree to all terms. Failure to follow these terms may result in
immediate account termination with no refund. Please note that the absence of a
specific abuse on this list does not mean it is allowed; this document is not
all-inclusive. Parrett's staff will have the final say in matters of
questionable usage.
Each User is responsible for ensuring proper account usage.
Keeping your password confidential is a must. If you believe
your password has been compromised, please contact our office for instructions
on how to have your password changed. You will be responsible for all usage of
the account under your name. Sharing or re-selling accounts is strictly
forbidden.
Users are required to respect the privacy of others;
attempting to gain passwords, read other user's email, or any other harassment
will not be tolerated under any circumstances.
Users are required to respect the legal protection provided
by copyright and license to programs and data.
Users are required to respect the integrity of all computing systems on the Internet. Users will not develop programs intended to damage other systems or obtain services unlawfully. Denials of Service attacks are not tolerated.
Absolutely no unsolicited email (Spam) is allowed from any
account that Parrett offers. This also includes inappropriate USENET posts and
web sites that promote the same.
Email only accounts cannot be used for dial-in access.
“Unlimited hours” does not imply dedicated access or
multiple logins. Dedicated dial-ups and additional dial-up accounts are
available from Parrett. Please call our office at (269) 927-4112 if interested.
The Parrett Web content filtering service is not an end all
solution and does not filter email or instant messaging services. It is offered
as an extra tool to help eliminate offensive Web sites from showing up. If you desire
more secure and custom filtering that you can control we would recommend using
one of the commercially available third party programs.
Users are required to pay their Parrett Internet
Technologies bills in a timely manner. Failure to do so will result in account
suspension, and eventually termination. If a User has a billing problem, it is
their responsibility to contact the Parrett billing department at (269)
429-0505.
If you are under the age of 18, you must submit a signed document by a
Parent/guardian stating they have also read and agree to
Parrett's policy.
Parrett Internet Technologies, Inc. will not be held
responsible for any lost revenues or loss of data that may be incurred by use
of its services. Further, Parrett will not be held responsible for
objectionable material that may be viewed on the Internet accessed through its
services, including but not limited to web access and electronic mail. Parrett
Internet Technologies, Inc. will also not be responsible for long distance
calls made by the customer to access our system.
Parrett Internet Technologies, Inc. reserves the right to
revise and make additions to this policy on an as needed basis. For more

These rules apply to all accounts unless a written contract by an authorized representative specifically modifies one or more points of this document. In such a case, all rules not specifically amended still apply.
