Advocating equal parenting time and parental cooperation for children
Fathers And Children Together (FACT) is a support group for divorced and never married parents (and grandparents) of children operating in Southwestern Michigan. The goals of the group are:
To help to rejoin parents and grandparents
with their children and grandchildren when divorce or parental separation denies them the
time they desire together.
To provide divorcing and single parents with parenting information.
To help parents deal with the court system.
To encourage parental co-operation (and discourage parental conflict.).
Participation in the group benefits parents and grandparents by giving them access to the latest information affecting separated families, the experience of other parents who have gone through similar situations and the opportunity to advocate for changes in how our society handles custody, parenting time and support issues.
Under our present legal system, the group encourages separated parents to seek mediation and to work together in an environment of respect when both parties want substantial time with their children. Our motto for child custody is:
